Description
Historian, ornithologist, and author Elliott Coues (1842-1899), once said, “a bird skull is a poem in bone, its architecture is frozen music.”
According to Audubon, nearly half of the bird species and up to forty percent of the waterfowl of North America spend part of their lives in the Mississippi flyway. Birds are our constant neighbors and companions. I have created these bird skull pendants using the lost wax process from actual bird skulls found in the immediate area.
A bird skull is said to symbolize freedom of the soul, enlightenment, transformation, change and adaptation. Almost every culture has had a fascination with birds. No matter your beliefs, these pendants are just plain cool!
